Appointed Chairman of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) on 1 April 2007, Mr Lim Chuan Poh is renowned for his long and eminent career in the Singapore Public Service. He was named SCIENCE magazine's top "People to Watch" in 2009 and one of the '50 People Changing the World' by Le Nouvel Observateur in 2013.
Prior to helming A*STAR, Mr Lim played an instrumental role in Singapore's education sector as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education (MOE) from July 2003 to March 2007. At MOE, Mr Lim spearheaded the transformation of the publicly funded universities into Autonomous Universities (AUs), establishing the foundations for the Academic Research Council and a new Academic Research Funding Framework for universities pursuing research. Under his tenure, Mr Lim introduced a pedagogical framework for polytechnics and universities to offer joint degree programmes with overseas institutions and guided the establishment of the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School at its Outram campus. Mr Lim currently serves as Chairman of the National Infocomm Security Committee and the inaugural Chairman of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a joint medical school by Nanyang Technological University and Imperial College, as well as Board Member of the National Research Foundation.
Internationally, Mr Lim is a Council Member of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum, member of Japan's World Premier International (WPI) Initiative Programme Assessment and Review Committee and International Advisor to the Japan Science and Technology Agency.

Professor Tan Eng Chye is Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost of the National University of Singapore (NUS). He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with first-class honours in 1985 at NUS and his PhD at Yale University in 1989. He oversees NUS' faculties and schools by providing strategic directions and setting academic policies. His responsibilities include admission policies and processes, educational quality assurance, budget and resource allocation for the faculties and schools, and the development and implementation of new educational initiatives. Professor Tan is also responsible for the appointment, promotion and tenure process, as well as the reward and incentive systems for academic staff.

Rajendra Srivastava is Provost and Deputy President, Singapore Management University.
A leading authority on the impact of marketing on business performance, he is frequently invited as a keynote speaker on topics such business model innovation, marketing metrics, value of market-based intangible assets (brands, channels) and management of growth and risk. His work on assessing the impact of marketing strategy business and financial performance has influenced both theory and practice on topics ranging from marketing accountability and strategic metrics across the globe. His paper linking market-based assets and market-facing business processes to shareholder value in the Journal of Marketing received the Maynard Award for the article judged to contribute most to the development of theory in marketing, the MSI/Paul Root Award for the article judged to contribute most to the practice of marketing, as well as the AMA/Sheth Foundation Award for long-term impact on marketing.
Professor Srivastava has worked closely with industry and has provided executive training and consultancy services largely in Technology/B2B and Services sectors for companies spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Raj has also served on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin and Emory University and has been a visiting faculty member at London Business School, Indian School of Business and Helsinki School of Economics. He holds a B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, MS (Industrial Engineering) from the University of Rhode Island, and MBA and Ph.D. in Business from the University of Pittsburgh.

Prof Freddy Boey is Deputy President and Provost of Nanyang Technological University (NTU). A Professor of Materials Engineering, he has a track record of breakthrough commercial applications that have given the "made in Singapore" label pride of place on the global stage.
Prof Boey is a pioneer in the use of functional biomaterials for medical devices. He has developed 30 original patents and founded several companies to commercialise his cardiovascular, ocular and surgical implants. Among his inventions is a surgical tissue retractor that has been sold in the US, Europe, Japan, Middle East and India. His customisable hernia mesh is the first such surgical mesh approved for sale by the US FDA and his company Amaranth Medical which develops full biodegradable heart stents, has recently received a buy in by Boston Scientific.
Apart from serving as Director on the boards of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and DSO National Laboratories, Prof Boey also serves on the boards of several nationally-funded research centres. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials in the UK, a founding Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Engineers, and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Singapore.
Prof Boey has received several highly prestigious awards, including the highly prestigious Imperial College London Fellowship Award at their Medical College; the Singapore President's Science and Technology Medal, the highest honor for lifetime achievement that can be given to top research scientists and engineers in Singapore; the President's Technology Award, the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from Monash University; honorary doctorates from Loughborough University, Nanjing University of Technology and Honorary Professorships from University of Indonesia & Nanjing Postal & Telecoms University.

Dafydd joined the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) as Manager for University Investment in December 2013, and is responsible for managing and overseeing the New Zealand University funding portfolio.
Prior to joining the TEC, Dafydd held a number of senior management positions in policy and research, which include Group Manager for Labour Market Dynamics, General Manager for Accident Compensation and Director, International Policy at the Department of Labour and Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment.
Dafydd has worked in a wide range of socio-economic policy areas which include tertiary education, employment and skills, international policy and trade, business growth, economic inclusion and housing, sector innovation, knowledge economy and urban & rural development policy.
He also has experience of working in a range of international policy areas, which include the ILO, APEC, UNHCR, OECD, and European Union; and also leading labour co-operative activities and negotiations in China, Japan, Hong Kong and the Philippines under New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Land Economy and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Plymouth, UK.

Danny Wong Tze Ken is currently Director, Global Planning & Strategy Centre, University of Malaya. He is also Professor of History at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya where he teaches history of Indochina and Southeast Asia. His research interests include history of Champa, Sabah and the Chinese in Malaysia. He was Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Integrated Area Studies, Kyoto University (2010), Visiting Scholar at Magdalene College, Cambridge University (2008), Visiting Lecturer at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (1998) and Visiting Professor at the Asia-Europe Institute (2008-2011). Among his publications are: The Nguyen and Champa during 17th and 18th Century (2007), Historical Sabah: Community and Society (2004), The Transformation of an Immigrant Society: a Study of the Chinese of Sabah (1998) and Vietnam-Malaysia Relations during the Cold War (1995). He is also Director of the Institute of China Studies and Head of the Malaysian Chinese Research Centre, University of Malaya.

Dr Cannon joined the University of Hong Kong in August 2013 as its first Executive Vice President (Administration and Finance). Dr Cannon is the University's principal officer providing strategic leadership and oversight of a portfolio that encompasses the management of fiscal affairs, as well as the direction and co-ordination of administrative operations inclusive of budget and finance management, human resource management, estates and facilities management together with health care, safety and information technology services.
Immediately prior to joining HKU, he had held the position of Secretary and Director of Operations at the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and has held senior management positions with the Scottish Government and at the Universities of Dundee and Warwick.
He has been a member of numerous committees, boards and task forces and for ten years until 2012 he represented the United Kingdom on the Governing Board of The Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE) Program of the OECD.
He is a member of the Governing Committee of the Queen Mary Hospital Hong Kong, the Universitas 21 Managers Network and of the Steering Committee of International Sustainable Campus Network. He is a former member of Universities Scotland International Committee and is a former advisor to the Ministry of Education in Ethiopia and the Tertiary Education Council of Mauritius.

Dr. Maxim Skryabin is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Higher Mathematics and a Senior Researcher at the Center for Asian Cooperation of ITMO University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Physics from the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in 2009. Since 2010, he has been employed at ITMO University. In 2014 he obtained MA degree in Comparative Education from Beijing Normal University and started working as a Senior Researcher at the Center for Asian Cooperation of ITMO University. His responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and maintaining cooperation with partners from the Asia-Pacific Region for implementation of joint international education programs (exchange programs, double degree programs, etc.) as well as short-term training programs and summer camps.

POON King Wang is the Director of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKY CIC) at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He is also concurrently Director - Strategic Planning at SUTD, and Co-Director of the SUTD-JTC Industrial Infrastructure Innovation Centre.
He was Director of Strategic Planning at the Competition Commission of Singapore, overseeing strategy, communications and international affairs. At the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), he led futures studies in info-communications, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and human factors engineering; oversaw national STEM outreach programs; and was concurrently head of technology applications in the commercialization arm of A*STAR. He served in the Economic Development Board and the Ministry of Law, spearheading efforts in cluster development and intellectual property policies.
King Wang was also Head of Business Planning and Analytics at UOB, and a strategy advisor to a mobile local search startup. He holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University, a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), and a Certificate in Rocket Engineering from the Moscow State Technical University.

She has held a variety of senior positions as an executive on Wall Street, as an entrepreneur and as a leader and innovator in the higher-education sector. She has 25+ years of experience leading and advising corporations and educational institutions on expansion into China across a wide-range of issues including regulatory landscape, negotiating strategies, cross-cultural communication, market-entry, joint-venture structures and strategy, and talent management matters.
She most recently led a ground breaking effort to establish the first undergraduate U.S. degree-granting campus in China. Her experience enables her to bring new perspectives including bi-cultural views cultivated throughout years of building deep relationships in the U.S. and China. May is currently Dean of School of Entrepreneurship and Management at ShanghaiTech University since 2014, a new university created to contribute to the restructuring and development of China's economy. May's mission is to create a 21st century business school faculty, curriculum, and research agenda that connects creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, science and business.

Bruce is a Chartered Accountant and has held senior finance roles in the aviation and fast moving consumer goods industries. In the public sector he has held senior management and planning roles in the New Zealand health sector and now in tertiary education. Since the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 he has been involved in business continuity planning and recovery initiatives across the institution.

As Director of Strategy, Planning and Performance at the University of Newcastle, Associate Professor Anne Young leads a team that is responsible for coordinating strategic planning, business intelligence, reporting and analytics, quality assurance, institutional surveys and research and student load planning. Anne has a PhD in statistics, is on the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Expert Register and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Prior to her current role, she worked in health planning and as a teaching and research academic in statistics and epidemiology, with a focus on longitudinal studies and record linkage. Anne has a strong interest in using both quantitative and qualitative data to support evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement, particularly in relation to improving student retention and success. She established the Australian Network of University Planners with her peers in 2012 to facilitate discussion of topical issues and to highlight the expertise within the group to support and contribute to policy discussions, educational research and evaluation of strategies.

Professor Roger Shu Kwan CHENG is currently the Associate Provost (Teaching & Learning) and Professor of Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering. He was Associate Head for Undergraduate Affairs of the ECE Department and then Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs of the School of Engineering. He led the effort in designing the new 4-year Engineering curriculum, implementing the new school-based admission scheme, coordinating the first-year advising program for the new Engineering students in the 4-year program at the School of Engineering. At his current position, he is in charge of the teaching & learning effort at the University, including blended learning, E-learning and Experiential Learning. Professor Cheng's research focus is in Wireless Communications and Networks. He published over 150 papers with 6500+ citations and filed 27 patents, among them 9 granted. He is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of HKIE and has been consultant for many companies. He is also one of the founders of a technology start-up in 1999, which was eventually listed on the HK Stock Exchange. He obtained his BS degree from Drexel University, and MSc and PhD degrees from Princeton University.

Kevin McConkey holds a BA (Hons) and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Queensland, Australia. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School, USA.
He is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, the American Psychological Association, and the Association for Psychological Science. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Professor McConkey has extensive expertise and experience across all academic and administrative aspects of public and private higher education. He has long-standing experience in corporate governance and senior management roles in complex organisations, including the University of New South Wales (Head, School of Psychology, then President, Academic Board) and the University of Newcastle (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, then and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Global Relations).
Since retiring from university employment, Professor McConkey has undertaken consultancies for a range of public and private tertiary education organisations in Australia and Asia on a range of matters, including reform of governance and management, strategic planning, financial management, employee relations, improving administrative effectiveness and efficiency, improving the student experience and international education.

Doris joined Yale-NUS College in 2012 from Bain & Company (Southeast Asia) where she was the Director of Human Capital. Prior to that, she was the Director of the MBA Program at INSEAD and then at Singapore Management University where she created and launched the MBA programs. She was also briefly at Ngee Ann Polytechnic as a Visiting Lecturer, where she taught Life Management Skills and Cross Cultural Communications. Her experience also extends to working in multiple media ventures including an internet start-up, Time Inc. International, Hearst New Media and Price Waterhouse LLP in their telecom and media division. Over the years, she has worked in Hong Kong, London, New York, France and Singapore. Doris graduated with a B.A. in Politics and Environmental Studies from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard University. She was an elected member of Princeton's Board of Trustees from 1993-1997. She sits on numerous boards including United World College (SEA) and the INSEAD Advisory Committee of Southeast Asia and the Yong Siew Tong Conservatory.

Will Houghteling is the North American Managing Director for the Minerva Schools at KGI. At Minerva, Will overseas the student lifecycle, covering outreach, student life, and career development. Prior to Minerva, Will worked for many years at Google in a variety of partnerships, strategy and marketing roles across Google Maps, Android, YouTube and Google+. Most recently at Google Will focused on using technology to increase access to education. Will graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University where he studied sociology and government.

Christina Luther is the Director of International Student and Scholar Services at Portland State University, where she has worked for the last 15 years. Ms Luther has been active in her professional association, NAFSA, for most of her career, presenting at the local, state and national level, serving on the regional team and on national sub-committees. Her primary interest is regulatory interpretation and application, in particular since the re-write of the F-1 student regulations in 2002. She is currently serving on NAFSA's International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice SubCommittee.

Prof. Suh is a professor in Information and Technology Strategy at the Department of Industrial & Management Engineering, POSTECH since 1989. Before joining POSTECH, he was on the faculty of Oklahoma State University. He received his B.S. from Seoul National University, M.S. from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Stanford University, and Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Prof. Suh has led the POSTECH's globalization in different capacities: Special Advisor to President in International Relations and Chair of Globalization Committee. Currently, he is the Chair of University Evaluation & Management Committee assessing POSTECH's outside evaluations to coordinate the management strategies of POSTECH. He also leads the GREATER POSTECH, a world-wide network for POSTECH's alumni, emeriti, faculty, and students.

Dr. Pitambar Gautam is Associate Professor at Creative Research Institution (CRIS), Hokkaido University, in Japan. Currently, he is engaged in bibliometric analysis of research publications to acquire data required for effective planning of the research strategy of university by the Vice President of Research. Prior to joining CRIS in 2008, he served as the coordinator and educator for the 5-years long MEXT-sponsored 21st Century COE Program "Neoscience of Natural History" at the Graduate School of Science of the same University and as a Lecturer in earth sciences at Tribhuvan University in Nepal (1983-2003). His long association with geo-environmental sciences related to the Himalayas has resulted in 50 research publications with database dependent h-index of 12 (WoS core), 13 (Scopus) or 15 (Google Scholar). He is particularly interested in identifying the institutional research strengths and research benchmarking at various levels (university, department/institute, and researcher) as well as active communication at multilingual and multicultural settings.

Dr. Alison Lloyd is the Director of Institutional Research and Planning at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She supports strategic and academic planning and oversees the University's participation on international rankings.
She was previously Associate Dean (External Relations and Development) of the Faculty of Business at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She led the branding and marketing of programmes, internationalisation, student development and alumni relations. The Faculty of Business is one of the largest business schools in the Asian region.
Prior to joining The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Alison worked as a Management Consultant with Deloitte and later moved on to being Principal Consultant in a business consulting firm in Hong Kong. She has previously worked on consulting engagements in the areas of strategy consulting, business process review and improvement, design and implementation of corporate performance management frameworks and change management for both private and public sector organizations in Hong Kong and Asia.

Graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the former University of Singapore and worked for 3 years as an auditor with the Ernst & Young public accounting firm. Embarked on a banking career by joining the Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), Singapore. Worked with the Bank for 18 years, fulfilling different roles from regional auditor, to Head of Internal Audit and ultimately as the Chief Financial Officer of the Singapore Branch. I was later placed as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of a family-owned real estate developer, which owns hotels, office buildings, residential developments and a retail mall. After 3 years, the opportunity to be involved in the start-up of a new university, the Singapore Management University, came in 1999. I joined the university as the Chief Financial Officer looking after the funding and financial aspects of the university. Over the years, additional functions were added to my responsibility, which included the Investment Office, Strategic Planning, Facilities Management, Campus Development, Facilities Leasing and Business Productivity Improvement. I am still serving as the Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration at the Singapore Management University.

Jill Lerner FAIA is Principal at KPF, an international design firm with a range of influential projects around the globe. With over 30 years of design and management experience, Ms. Lerner has led the design of numerous award-winning academic, medical, and research projects including the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, CUNY's Advanced Science Research Center, Peking University's School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen and NYU Shanghai.
Jill speaks frequently on topics including Global Practice, Women in Architecture, Academic Planning and Programming and Professional Leadership. Jill is the past President of AIA NY 2013; her theme "Global City/Global Practice" highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and the work of NY Architects abroad, including two exhibitions: "Hong Kong at 15", and "Practical Utopias: Asia's Global Urbanism"
After 9/11 Jill co-chaired the Memorials Process Committee for New York/New Visions. She was the only Architect on the Board of Trustees at Cornell University from 2004 - 2009 and Chaired the Building Committee of the Board for the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh. Other Board roles include the Atkinson Center for Sustainable Future, New York's Salvadori Center, The New York Building Congress and the Beverly Willis Foundation. She was a featured speaker at Global China Connection Joint Conferences at Columbia and Vanderbilt Universities in New York.

Susan Lowance has over 20 years of experience as an architect with specialized expertise in the programming, planning and design of educational, institutional and research buildings. Since joining KPF in 2000, she has worked for a range of academic institutions, including New York University, New York University Shanghai, the University of Michigan, the University of California Los Angeles, and the University of Miami. Working closely with each client, she helps generate organizational principles for buildings that both reflect the specific character of the institution they serve and transform the culture with new state of the art facilities. She also works to craft learning environments which reflect new pedagogical directions and accommodate change over time. Her current projects include the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at the University of California-Los Angeles.
Ms. Lowance received her Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University, her Master of Architecture from Harvard University and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. She is also a Member-at-Large of the North Atlantic Regional Council for the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP).

Bhupinder is Director in the Office of the President, at the National University of Singapore. He is responsible for the planning portfolio and works with the senior management team at the strategic level to lead university - wide initiatives relating to strategic planning, finance and IT. Prior to this, Bhupinder was with the Office of the Provost and the Dean's Office of the School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and University of Manchester respectively.

Michael Fung is the Director of Planning and Institutional Research, Office of the President at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He provides leadership and support for the University's strategic and academic planning, decision-making, resource allocation, assessment of institutional effectiveness, and participation in international rankings.
He is the Founding Chair of the Higher Education Planning in Asia Network, a Pacific Regional Council member of the Society for College and University Planning, a member of the Association for Institutional Research, and a registered international consultant with the Asia-Pacific Quality Network. He serves on the Carnegie Mellon University Admissions Council, and as a Council member of the English Schools Foundation Clear Water Bay School in Hong Kong.

Chris Shay serves as the Assistant Vice President for Operations at Santa Clara University. He is responsible for the execution of the University's new 2020 facilities master plan effort. Prior to Santa Clara University, Chris was the Director of Facilities for Stanford University's School of Humanities and Sciences and the Director of Capital Projects for the Stanford University School of Medicine. He has served in both the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Foreign Service. He has had the opportunity to study abroad in Bangkok Thailand (Asian Institute of Technology) prior to joining Stanford.

Pey Kin-Leong is currently the Associate Provost of Education and a Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Prof. Pey was appointed by the Singapore Ministry of Education to take up the current position at SUTD in 2009. He was previously Head of the Microelectronics Division, Programme Director of the Si Technology Research group, Director of the Nanyang NanoFabrication Center (N2FC), and the Director of the Microelectronic Centre in the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and had graduated 30 PhD theses and more than 15 Master theses.
Prof Pey previously held a Fellowship appointment in the Singapore-MIT Alliance and has held various research positions in the Institute of Microelectronics, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, Agilent Technologies and the National University of Singapore.
His research interests are pulsed laser annealing for channel engineering for nano-scale Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor and advanced alloy silicide for nano-structures and nano-devices. He has also been working on transistor reliability in dielectric breakdown and advanced interconnects for more than 10 years. In particular, Prof Pey pioneers in using physical analysis techniques in the study of breakdown mechanisms in ultrathin gate dielectric stack and publishes regularly in the related area in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) journals and conferences, including regular invited talks at semiconductor devices related conferences.
A senior member of IEEE and an IEEE Electron Devices Society Distinguished Lecturer, Prof Pey has been the organising committee member of IEEE IPFA (Physical and Failure Analysis of Integrated Circuits) since 1995. He was the General Chair of IPFA2001, Singapore and the co-General Chair of IPFA2004, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Pey Pey is a Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering & Technology.
Prof Pey is an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Devices and Materials Reliability. He has published more than 170 international refereed publications, 175 technical papers at international meetings or conferences and a book chapter, and holds 37 US patents.
